불행을 다양한 개념과 관점으로 카테고라이징하며 많은 것들이 불행하게 느껴지는 요즘, 자잘한 행운들이 유난히 귀하게 느껴진다. 바라보기만 해도 나의 행운력이 높아지는 듯한 존재들이 있다. 그 존재들을 일러스트로 담아 행운을 전달하고자 한다.
행운을 부르는 동물들을 바라보며 자신의 복을 빌고(求福), 그 결과를 점쳐볼 수 있는 작은 공간을 마련해 보았다. 행운 수치를 확인하기 위한 주사위와 책도 함께 준비했다.
행운의 크기(일상에서 접하는 빈도)에 따라 일러스트의 크기에도 변화를 주었다. 크기가 클수록 더 희귀한 행운을 의미한다. 책에서는 역으로, 귀할수록 지류의 크기를 줄여 마치 숨어 있는 듯 보이도록 구성했다.
As unhappiness is being categorized through various concepts and perspectives, many things feel unfortunate these days. In contrast, small moments of luck feel especially precious. There are certain beings that seem to raise my luck simply by being looked at. By capturing these beings in illustrations, I aim to share and pass on good fortune.
While viewing Animals That Bring Good Fortune, visitors are invited to wish for their own luck(求福) and to divine the outcome. A small space has been created for this purpose, accompanied by dice and a book to help measure and reflect on one’s luck.
The scale of each illustration varies according to the “size” of luck—that is, how frequently it is encountered in everyday life. Larger illustrations represent rarer forms of luck. In the book, this relationship is reversed: the more precious the luck, the smaller the page, making it appear as though the luck is hidden.
