여러 국가의 신화는 다른 문화권에서 시작되었음에도 비슷한 내러티브를 공유하고 있습니다. ‘하늘에서 내려온 사람', ‘스승이 될 귀인을 만남', ‘나라를 다스림’ 등 우리는 신화에서 비슷한 성질의 등장인물과 이야기를 발견할 수 있습니다. 본 작업은 이러한 유사한 내러티브를 보여주는 방식으로 4~50년대 카툰 일러스트 방식을 차용하여 제작된 그래픽 포스터입니다.
작업에서 만화의 문법인 ‘칸’은 스토리를 신화의 긴 이야기를 모듈화하고, 유사한 전개의 ‘칸’을 합쳐 표현하는데 사용됩니다.
Myths from various cultures, despite originating in different regions, often share remarkably similar narrative structures. Themes such as “a figure descending from the heavens,” “encountering a sage-like mentor,” or “ruling over a nation” appear across many mythological traditions. This project presents a graphic poster created in the style of 1940s–50s cartoons to highlight these shared narrative patterns.
In this work, the comic grammar of panels is employed to modularize the long, complex narratives found in mythology. By grouping panels that depict similar developments, the poster visualizes the structural parallels that connect myths across cultures.
