Project Intro
ROOT-US는 도시농업을 수단으로 새로운 이웃 교류의 장을 형성하기 위한 공유형 에어로포닉스 타워 시스템 디자인 프로젝트입니다.
기존 스마트팜이 지닌 경직되고 차가운 이미지를 넘어, ROOT-US는 커뮤니티 공간에 따라 다양한 곡선 형태로 구성할 수 있는 모듈 시스템을 통해 따뜻하고 유연한 공간 경험을 제공합니다. 커뮤니티 내에 자리한 이 공간에서 주민들은 개별 팟을 돌보고 이웃과 교류하며, 나눔·기쁨·치유가 어우러진 복합적인 경험을 합니다.
이를 통해 ROOT-US는 농업이 가진 본연의 가치를 회복시키고, 이웃과 상생하는 새로운 도시 문화를 형성하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
ROOT-US is a shared aeroponic tower system design project that utilizes urban agriculture as a medium to create new spaces for neighborhood interaction.
Moving beyond the rigid and cold image often associated with conventional smart farms, ROOT-US offers a warm and flexible spatial experience through a modular system that can be configured into various curved forms depending on the community space. Within these shared environments, residents care for individual planting pods while naturally engaging with their neighbors, fostering a layered experience of sharing, joy, and healing.
Through this approach, ROOT-US aims to restore the fundamental values of agriculture and cultivate a new urban culture grounded in coexistence and community connection.
Module Design
각각의 모듈은 기존 에어로포닉스 타워형 재배기들이 지닌 구조적 문제를 해결하기 위해, 물이 순환하는 파이프가 블록 형식으로 연결되는 결합 구조로 설계되어 누구나 쉽게 분해 및 조립이 가능하도록 디자인되었습니다. 또한 농작물이 꽂히는 각 유닛은 개별 팟 형식으로 재구성하여, 개인의 독립적인 농작물 관리 효율을 높였습니다.
Each module is designed with a block-based connecting structure in which the water-circulating pipes are assembled as modular units, addressing the structural limitations of conventional aeroponic tower systems and allowing for easy assembly and disassembly by users. In addition, the planting units are reconfigured as individual pods, enabling independent crop management and improving overall efficiency for personal cultivation.
