No one has yet died in space. However, when humanity settles on the Moon around 2060, people will be born, live, and die there. A village-scale lunar community with an entirely different environment and culture from Earth will need its own funeral traditions. Like Persephone in Greek mythology—wife of death and goddess of spring's cycle and flowers—this project encompasses death and rebirth, endings and beginnings. A dignified final journey for humanity in the space age, honoring the pioneers who first stepped into the unknown.
