Intimacy: constructed by Gaze and Movement
“문은 단순한 경계 장치가 아닌, 내밀함을 생성하는 공간적 장치이다.
전통적으로 문은 시선과 동선을 차단함으로써 사적인 영역을 보호해 왔지만, 이 작업은 차단이 아닌 ‘노출 가능성의 인지’를 통해 내밀함이 형성될 수 있음을 제안한다. 공간의 중심에는 세 개의 동선을 가진 양방향 회전문이 놓여 있으며, 문의 어느 지점을 밀고 들어가느냐에 따라 이동 경로와 경험이 달라진다.
첫 방문자는 문의 장치에 의해 가운데 통로로 유도되고, 레벨 차이와 슬릿을 통해 타자의 시선에 놓일 수 있다는 감각을 경험한다. 반면 반복 방문자와 집주인은 다른 통로를 사용하며, 공간 구조에 대한 이해가 깊어질수록 노출의 감각은 완화된다. 이처럼 이 공간은 사용자의 관계와 방문의 반복성에 따라 서로 다른 감각을 생성하며, 응시와 동선의 조절을 통해 내밀함을 점진적으로 구성한다.

Rather than relying on blockage, this project proposes intimacy as an awareness of potential exposure. At the center is a bi-directional revolving door with three circulation paths, where different points of entry produce different movements and experiences.
First-time visitors are directed into a central passage, sensing possible exposure through level changes and slits, while returning visitors and the homeowner use alternative routes. As familiarity with the space grows, the feeling of exposure softens, and intimacy is gradually formed through the control of gaze and movement.
