Every moment that has passed on Earth does not disappear; it becomes light and marches through the universe. We cannot return to past moments, but that does not mean they are gone. Past moments are carried by the light emitted from Earth, traveling endlessly straight into space. And just as we see the light that left the Sun eight minutes and twenty seconds ago as “now,” somewhere in the distant universe, the past of Earth contained within that light may be seen as “now.” Therefore, everything that once existed on Earth does not vanish, but continues to exist within the endless parade of light racing through the universe.「The Parade」 presents the forms that have disappeared through the course of human evolution as a procession of light, revealing this continuity of time and existence.
